VIAJES DE AYAHUASCA DESDE LA REPÚBLICA CHECA

Este artículo se enfoca en viajes organizados desde la República Checa hasta la Amazonía con el propósito de participar en ceremonias de ayahuasca. La ayahuasca es una preparación psicoactiva que actualmente se utiliza principalmente para el desarrollo personal y la curación de ciertos padecimientos. El objetivo principal de este artículo es descubrir qué motiva a los turistas checos a visitar la Amazonía y usar la ayahuasca. Además, explicamos cómo se organizan dichos recorridos en función de las percepciones de los participantes. El trabajo de campo se realizó entre enero y junio de 2018. Un total de 21 encuestados (9 mujeres y 12 hombres) participaron en la investigación. Se grabaron entrevistas semiestructuradas con una duración promedio de 37 minutos con los informantes (15 horas en total). Las transcripciones fueron analizadas bajo el método de la teoría fundamentada. Los resultados indican que una serie de factores interrelacionados han jugado un papel en la decisión de participar en el recorrido: adquirir nuevos conocimientos, la convivencia entre familiares y amigos, la invitación de los habitantes nativos, el grupo turístico y las aventuras. Los checos que participaron en ceremonias de ayahuasca prefieren paquetes turísticos a Colombia, Perú y Ecuador.
