The study aimed to develop and test a feed mixture for broiler chickens incorporating black soldier fly larvae meal (Hermetia illucens) as an alternative protein source. This innovative component partially replaces soybean meal, addressing challenges related to the limited availability of conventional feed resources, high costs, and global competition for proteins. The experiment included different proportions of insect meal (0%, 5%, 15%, 30%), with parameters such as growth performance, carcass yield, and nutrient balance being monitored. Results indicate that insect meal inclusion up to 15% supports growth performance without adverse effects on carcass quality. However, higher levels (30%) resulted in reduced growth performance. This functional sample has industrial potential for sustainable feed production with positive impacts on food security and the environment.
