THE RURAL LANDSCAPE OF SLOVAKIA YESTERDAY, TODAY AND TOMORROW

The country of Slovakia can be considered a rural country, as evidenced by its character. The Slovak landscape has undergone various changes during its historical development, which have also been reflected in its character. Each historical period has left specific features on its character and image. The paper maps the main milestones in the development of the rural landscape of Slovakia from World War II to the present day and describes their manifestations in the character of the landscape. It also evaluates the basic positives and negatives of individual developmental stages.
